Diagnostic imaging tests may include mammograms, ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRI.

Diagnostic tests could also include a biopsy. There are several types of biopsies, and your physician will explain which is recommended for you.

Most diagnostic tests will be done for you within the Breast Care Center and your physician will discuss the results with you as soon as they become available, usually within a few days to a few weeks depending on the test.

The following tests are performed within the Breast Care Center:

•    Breast  ultrasound
•    Ultrasound guided biopsy
•    Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAC)
Results are analyzed directly in the pathology department at St Mary’s Hospital
